Global Food Innovation Forum (Real Site of Carditello, 24th June 2021)
On Thursday 24th June 2021, at the Real Site of Carditello (San Tammaro, district of Caserta), took place the Global Food Innovation Forum, organized by the Agriculture Department of the Campania Region and funded by Campania 2014-2020 RDP.
The agri-food sector is at the heart of the challenges posed by the post-COVID next normal, and the Campania Region intends to increasingly connect agriculture and fisheries to European and international innovation trajectories, strengthening collaboration and exchange between regional ecosystem stakeholders and key global players.
Specifically, with the first Global Food Innovation (GFI) Forum, the Agricolture Department aimed to create genuine “communities of practice” capable of providing opportunities for structured and ongoing discussion between current and future beneficiaries of the Campania 2014-2020 RDP funds and key players in the transformation of the agricultural sector, addressing the new challenges of food security, food safety, and economic, environmental, and social sustainability for supply chains and rural areas.
The GFI Forum was created with the scientific and methodological support of the Committee for New Agricultural Planning of the Campania Region in collaboration with FAO, the Future Food Institute, Food & Drink Europe, the European Knowledge Alliance ASKFOOD, the cross-KIC Food4Health, the European Commission, the National Technological Cluster for Agro-food and the National Bioeconomy Committee.
The Global Food Innovation Award was organized as part of the GFI Forum.
The Global Food Innovation Award was held in compliance with COVID-19 containment measures.
